We need you!

TSTS ry might be best known for out events.

They are visible and important part of the student community, but they are not the primary purpose.

TSTS ry exists primarily to advocate for healthcare students at Turku University of Applied Sciences.

It means contributing to development of education, making students' voices heard, cooperating with the university, and make sure that healthcare students have a strong and active community to support them.

The association is not a service which is carried by a small group of volunteers.

The association is its members.

If active work and responsible constantly leaves to same people, the activities will decline.

In the end, it's not affecting only to our events, but also that TSTS ry existsting work - safeguarding the interests and rights of our student community.

It is not about lacking the willingness to do things.

It is about the capacity of a few people is not enough to carry the responsibility of association representing nearly 1,700 students.

Healthcare's studies are demanding.

The practical training, exams, thesis work, employment, and free time can be demanding. That kind of everyday life applies to all board members, who volunteers their time for the association alongside everything else.

In recent times, the demanding has grown so heavy that current way of the operating is no sustainable in the long term.

Our student association's future is not build by responsibility of individual board members.

It's build about members feeling that association is theirs and are they ready to participate to its activities according to their own capacity.

TSTS ry's work doesn't continuing its own. It continues only if there are people to make it happen.

The solution is not that everyone should do more. Many people simply don't have a opportunity to do so, and we can't demand it from anyone.

But if there is more members to participate in a little, the responsible will be shared equally and nobody needs to carry unreasonable workload.

Association's strength is not about its size.

It's about how many people feels that theirs.

So, this is the right time to stop thinking about what kind of association our current students wants to leave for the future generations of students.

If the goal is the community, which defend  its students interests, build togetherness, and offers to possibilities to influence, we need more than just a board.

We need a membership which is ready to be part of working together.

This is not about blaming or sympathy appealing.

This is an honest description of the association's current situation.
